We got the keys to our new apartment this evening, it's all ours. I walked in and forgot the amount of space we have. It's over 900 square feet, and very airy. The bedroom gets all the light in the morning, and then the living room gets the light in the afternoon and evening which is ideal.
We were relieved to find plenty of shops around in Smithfield, across the river, also there's an off-license on the corner of our street but I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing, however handy that may be... We also found a Slovak food shop, which was exciting for Matt considering they seem rather difficult to find in Dublin.
But back to the apartment! There's a caretaker (Wayne) who seems to go above and beyond the call of duties for his tenants, which is really cool, he sounds like an incredibly cool guy, really friendly. The car park in the basement is awesome, the lift takes the cars down which I just thought was ingenious. We have a closet, a spare room which we're using as a study and two bathrooms (one an en-suite). We moved some things over this evening, and we're moving more over the week, mainly Monday when my sister's helping us move some essentials.
We aren't going to both moving the television until the last minute, we have the laptop for DVDs, because NTL won't connect the TV and internet for about 14 days, which really, really sucks but it's a small thing, it doesn't matter.
I'm sure we'll amuse ourselves somehow!
